3am thursday night. She didn't sleep well the first night at all. Feeding every hour - for about an hour each time. We were up and down until around 4:30, when I brought her into our bed. Then she slept almost 4 hours. I feel rejuvinated like a new man, after a rest like that!
Well, I guess we should forgive the first night. The poor kid has quite and adjustment to make, from being an aquatic creature dwelling in soothing darkness and muted sounds, with a built-in heating system and no need to feed itself, to being a newborn! How can we blame them for depriving us of sleep the first night. We deprive them of cosyness, quietness, warmth, food, drink, etc... all in one go! And we force them to do perform contortionist feats and do hours of work and squeeze through a tiny little hole to get there!
And then we say "be quiet and let *us* get some sleep!
There we go, first night blues explained in a nutshell...
